The following work was created in response to the Walters Art Museum’s ancient Americas collection. This installation explored how the blending of Indigenous and European traditions is an ongoing process of conquest and resistance. The pieces highlighted the connection between the art of the past and the contemporary Mexican diaspora and the ongoing displacement of native people whose traditions are not defined by national borders.
