Tres Amigas
The Demographics of Baltimore City are shifting and neighborhoods are becoming more diverse. In particular in Highlandtown where the Latino population has grown significantly. This mural portrays three Grandmothers of distinct cultural backgrounds a direct representation of the community and the people who call this neighborhood their home.
With the help from local teens that are part of Baltimore United Viewfinders and CASA de Maryland’s youth outreach programs Pablo Machioli and I designed and painted the mural. This work served as a collaborative community dialogue initiative. It was a platform to engage in conversations with neighbors about migration, empathy, and aspirations for progress.
